Just Listed in NYC: This ‘One-of-a-Kind’ Apartment Just Off City Hall Park is Now Listed for $2.2 Million

In this edition of Just Listed–a series from Redfin News that explores listings that are listed by Redfin or Compass agents on Redfin.com–we’re exploring an apartment located in downtown New York City.

Surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Lower Manhattan, this two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom loft-style apartment is listed for $2,199,000.

Located a block from City Hall Park and close to the Brooklyn Bridge too, this 1,700 square-foot apartment has 13-foot ceilings and 11-foot arched windows. It is what listing agent Eithan Davidov from Compass called a “one-of-a-kind-apartment.”

“You walk in and you feel the vibe because the windows are gorgeous and the high ceilings are breathtaking. It is a unique opportunity because it’s one of the largest apartments you could own at this price point in City Hall Park,” Davidov told Redfin News. “The location lets you have everything at your fingertips too.”

The apartment is just a couple blocks away from major subway lines and landmarks like Wall St, City Hall, South Street Seaport and Battery Park.

The apartment is located inside the Park Place Tower, which was originally built as the headquarters of the American Tract Society in the late 1890s. It was last an office for the former newspaper, “New York Sun,” before it was converted into apartments from 1999 to 2002 and was designated a New York City landmark around the same time.

“In this apartment you get the industrial vibe from the old life of the building while still having an airy and open space,” he said.

The property also has a private terrace that allows for indoor-outdoor living without ever leaving the comfort of your home. The unit also has a washer and dryer, custom built-in bookshelves and recessed lighting throughout.

“The ideal buyer for this place is someone who knows what this part of town has to offer and will appreciate the space and the convenience,” Davidov added.

The building also offers residents full-service amenities, including a 24-hour doorman, a health club, common library/lounge and a shared rooftop deck.
