Redfin awards Murphy a home valued at more than $1 million for being the fastest person to successfully complete a nationwide scavenger hunt in the Redfin app
Redfin today announced the winner of the Great American Home Search, a nationwide scavenger hunt for a $1 million home in the Redfin app that kicked off moments after Rocket and Redfin’s Big Game commercial aired on February 8.
Kiel Murphy from El Mirage, Arizona won the contest by solving every clue and finding the winning home the fastest. His sleuthing led him to a beautiful home located in Denver—one of America’s most neighborly cities.

For Kiel and his wife Meghan, their new home represents more than a place to live. It’s an opportunity for these two hiking and camping enthusiasts to move with their 7-month old daughter to a region renowned for its natural beauty and access to outdoor recreation. Denver is one of the country’s sunniest cities and boasts nearly 20,000 acres of urban and mountain parks.
“Kiel and his family are about to start a new chapter and put down roots in a community that’s perfect for them—and that’s what homeownership is all about,” said Jason Aleem, Redfin’s Chief of Real Estate Services. “I was blown away watching people across the country dive into the search, get creative to solve clues and share what neighborliness means to them. Thank you to everyone who participated; you showed that the American dream still resonates and is worth chasing.”

More than a quarter of a million Americans participated in the contest. Over two days, players used tools in the Redfin app to analyze clues and locate the real million‑dollar home featured in Rocket and Redfin’s Big Game commercial. By combining careful observation with the app’s search features, Kiel completed the final step of the game—selecting the winning home—in just 19 seconds.
The Great American Home Search demonstrated the power of participation beyond a traditional Big Game ad. Rocket and Redfin’s America Needs Neighbors Like You commercial surpassed 1.6 million YouTube views and 31,000 hours of watch time as players searched for clues. The campaign drove 275,000 Redfin app downloads, generated 1.6 billion social impressions and inspired thousands of #BeAGoodNeighbor submissions, fueling a nationwide celebration of community.
The Great American Home Search reflects Rocket and Redfin’s shared belief that homeownership is about more than a transaction. It’s about helping people put down roots in neighborhoods where relationships grow and people show up for one another.
